Inclusive Fotball Tournament in Zagreb celebrates EWOS 2025

On September 20–21, 2025, Zagreb proudly hosted an inclusive football tournament for people with intellectual disabilities (PwID) as part of the European Week of Sport. The event brought together more than 150 participants, including athletes, families, friends, coaches, and supporters.

The tournament featured mixed football teams, ensuring fair play and gender balance, alongside over 20 recreational and educational activities for children, adults, and seniors. All activities were free of charge and carefully adapted to participants’ abilities, promoting equal access to sport for everyone.

Beyond football, the program emphasized sustainability, with workshops on recycling, ecological awareness, and environmentally friendly practices.

This celebration of inclusion, sport, and community spirit highlighted the importance of providing opportunities for everyone—regardless of age, gender, or ability—to enjoy the benefits of physical activity. Every participant was rewarded, underscoring the event’s focus on fun, cooperation, and belonging.

Zagreb’s tournament demonstrated the power of sport to break down barriers, foster friendships, and inspire positive change.
