Celebrating Community Action and Youth Leadership

Following the successful completion of our placemaking interventions within Project YPB, we organized a vibrant community event to celebrate the transformation of the forest area and school playground.

The event showcased the newly revitalized spaces — bringing together children, parents, and local residents for a day of activity, play, and connection.

Highlights of the event included:

  • 🏃‍♂️ Obstacle Course Race:
Held in the newly adapted forest area, participants tested their agility and teamwork on a course built from natural elements, emphasizing both fun and sustainability.

  • 🎯 Traditional Games on the Playground:
Classic games brought a sense of nostalgia and intergenerational bonding to the renovated schoolyard, now featuring upgraded basketball boards and nets.

  • ⚙️ Movement Demonstrations:
As an added value, there were demonstrations of movement through machines and devices, offering visitors insight into creative ways of integrating physical activity into daily routines.

What made this event truly special was that it was youth-led — young participants took charge of coordination, logistics, and facilitation, showing how empowered youth can become active stewards of their community spaces.

Through Project YPB, this celebration marked not just the completion of physical improvements, but also the strengthening of community spirit, collaboration, and sustainable local engagement.
